Used Cooking Oil Price

Used Cooking Oil PriceYour old cooking oil replaces the need for gasoline

Imagine a world where your old cooking oil replaces the need for gasoline. Instead of pumping your car at a service station for $ 3.30 a gallon, will lead you to one of your local restaurants and fill for a few cents. The funny thing is, you do not have to imagine more. It's true! No matter how many times you read this, the facts remain the same. Who ever thought cooking oil can be multi-functional, the same thing you use to fry your chicken and French fries can now be used in your gas tank.

Environmentally, the use of this product is nothing new households, particularly for cars and trucks equipped with diesel engines. This oil has a low emission alternative for some time now, even before gas prices went upward. The first results were in from as far as when gas prices were less than a dollar per gallon (What a sweet memory that is).

If you decide to start using your cooking oil in the old car, here are some tips you can keep in mind. Of course, you must filter the oil. At current prices, the filtering system will cost around a thousand dollars. The long-term cost would be worthwhile for your pocketbook and the environment. Cooking oil burns much more slowly than gasoline because it is thicker which means it lasts longer, but there are some ways to work with that because it can have its dangers as well. You can buy thin oil or gas reservoir separated, you can switch between the two gas tanks: the cooking oil and petrol. This works if you're a little uncomfortable while using the cooking oil.

Before we are all too carried away let's take a look at an interesting nugget of information. Even if gas prices were high this summer with little or no sign down in the near future, the current gas prices are not a new record compared to the 1973 oil crisis which took the price of gas from 30 cents a gallon to 55 cents a gallon. The minimum wage at that time was less than $ 2.00 an hour. In addition, car owners could not buy gas on certain days depending on what numbers were on their license plates. Try to imagine going through this nightmare now.

But the problem remains, with millions of American families who live on one pay check, these ridiculously high gas prices are now forcing people to find other ways to work around it. Environmental enthusiasts are very pleased to note that sales of hybrid cars has increased dramatically over the past year. The problem with this is that most hybrid cars are much more expensive than regular car and the return on investment can take many years. It also seems to be a big increase in the use of public transport again! Many people are now thinking more about how and when they use their car. Do I really need to make this trip? It seems that the most cost effective solution available to us now is to buy cars that give you the best MPG (miles per gallon), something that the world has been doing for years. The British car owners poor paid more than $ 8.00 a gallon for years, and they produce their own oil from the North Sea.

Have we really reached the point where alternative sources of energy such as cooking oil from our elders have become a real solution to our problem?
