How do I make a cake theme Star Wars? It's my brothers birthday next weekend and he is a fan of Star Wars GIANT and I want to make a cake, advice?
It depends entirely on the amount of work you want to save, but a semi-simple is to use a round cake pan, cover the cake in icing gray, and is decorated to resemble the star of Death Star Wars original - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Death_ ...
Another idea I saw once was a sheet cake with a clump of trees on a plastic Tan iced cake made to look like a mangrove icing tube as thin vines everywhere. In the middle was a "pool" based frozen pipes green tinted, and a toy X-Wing was in it. It is from The Empire Strikes Back when Luke crashes on Dagobah to find Yoda.

Personally, I order from the bakery, as I never think "theme" cakes never come out quite right, unless you're a baker professionally.
However, you could make a cake or a regular layer sheet cake and decorate with the figures of Star Wars. Or simply freeze in chocolate and white icing to pipe on record, "May the force be with you ... Happy Birthday!" Or something like that.
If you get a cake long thin you can make a few and put them together to make a long stick looking thing, so if you ice it right, it looks like a lightsaber
