Christy Snickerdoodles
1 cup shortening
1 1 / 2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 3 / 4 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon cream Tea Scale
1 / 4 c. salt
1 tsp teaspoon baking soda
2 v. tablespoons sugar
2 v. teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cream shortening, sugar 1 1 / 2 cups, and eggs. Add cream of tartar, salt and baking soda and mix well. Stir in flour and mix well. Mix 2 tablespoons tablespoons sugar and cinnamon in small bowl. Roll cookie dough into small balls and roll balls in cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake at 400 degrees on a cookie sheet greased non 8 to 10 minutes.
BUTTER DROP COOKIES
COOKIES:
1 / 2 cup butter flavored shortening
3 / 4 cup sugar
Milk 1 soup
1 egg
1 / 2 c. vanilla
1 1 / 4 cups all purpose flour
1 / 4 c. salt
1 / 4 c. baking powder
Frosting:
1 / 2 cup butter flavored shortening
1 pound (4 cups) powdered sugar
1 / 3 cup milk
v. vanilla extract 1 tsp
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a cookie sheet and set aside.
To make cookies:
In a medium bowl at medium speed of electric mixer, beat together shortening, sugar and milk until smooth. Beat in the vanilla extract and egg.
Mix flour, salt and yeast in the mixture of cream. Drop by tablespoons onto the baking organization on 2-inches. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-9 minutes or until they are lightly browned on edges. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet, then remove to rack to cool completely before frosting or decorating.
To make frosting:
shortening, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in small mixing bowl. Beat at low speed of electric mixer for about 15 seconds. Scrape down bowl and beat at high speed for 2 minutes or until smooth and creamy.
