Kids Cupcakes

Posted on January 21, 2010.
Kids CupcakesWhat can I cook with children outside of cupcakes?

We made cakes and scones, what else is easy that children could do?

Cheese straws, pancakes, pies, shortbread, sausage rolls ...

Cookies

What fun is if you find a good sugar cookie recipe and let kids cut out cookies in their preferred forms. If you want to leave the ice to help the icing they can contribute to color frosting or you can just leave the ice if you sprinkles you can add sprinkles on top too!

My kids love it!

bread pudding?
cheap to do can not really go wrong with mixing and quick to cook as good taste

smarties cookies oh and add to the mix I also buttons of Cadbury and cherry and coconut jelly theyll love toddlers are also nice xxx

Pancakes of course. It's fun and easy to do, especially if you flip through them as they tell you in this recipe

Breton Craapes:
http://www.theworldwidegourmet.com/?acti ...

Fill them with Nutella (chocolate spread, delicious), all sorts of jams,
raw sugar, ice cream, fruit, whatever.
For adults, sprinkle sugar on top, pour dark rum or Grand Marnier
light a match (flamed process). Very good

And you can do the day before, reheat in microwave on low power. Do not fill them but if you do that.
Heat first

Fun

Make sandwich cookies. http://simplycooking-for5.blogspot.com/. They are a cookie cake mix and very tasty. You can decorate as you wish. Add asparagus cherry or cookies. Pour chocolate on top.

Brownies are easy. Only a few ingredients and it does not need to be stirred until it is perfect.

-Cut biscuits. http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-2 ... Cut out shapes and then let them put the icing on either with a spatula, knife or a brush. My 3-year-old loves to paint her cookies.

Rice Krispy Treats are always great. http://www.ricekrispies.com/Display.aspx ... You can do this with any type of cereal you have on hand.

kraftfoods.com or myfreerecipes.com

Cookies are good enough to make because you only need a baking sheet. Or you could make a cake and let the kids decorate the end. Gingerbread are so good and fun to decorate if you get smarties and hundreds and thousands. If you're after something very easy Tesco sell decorate your own gingerbread men so you could just decorate ready made gingerbread. I hope you have fun

Pancakes! Ohh, and pizza - my kids love to choose their own toppings!

cookies and pancakes! my little sister (10) can do on their own these now so easy. Should in any good recipe book

krispies cakes.rice Krispies or corn flakes mixed with melted chocolate.mmm

Pancakes and biscuits

I know you are concerned with both simplicity and security. I occasionally give cooking classes to groups of children, and cupcakes and cookies are the two main sweet treats (scones I have not tried it, I should look into this). Children can do all the work themselves, with the exception of handling everything in a hot oven. The fun part, really, is the decoration.

As for savory dishes, I have one word for you: pizza. I will prepare the batter ahead --- --- it keeps well and the party into pieces 4 ounces. When children get their hands on it, they can up with (canned) sauce and whatever toppings they like. Me going to HAV.
