Hydrocotyle Asiatica

Posted on March 1, 2010.
Hydrocotyle AsiaticaWhat is the use of ayurvedic medicine "Gotu Kola" for the treatment of episiotomy? What Peri Balm?

What is the use of ayurvedic medicine "Gotu Kola for the treatment of episiotomy? Is it still useful after 5 weeks of episiotomy?

Other names Gotu Cola Centella asiatica, Hydrocotyle asiatica, Indian pennywort (English) Mandukaparni (India), Pegaga (Malaysia) and Di Chien Tsao, Man Tien Hsing and Zhi Xue Cao (China).

A study published in a French medical journal in 1966, women treated with gotu kola after childbirth healed more rapidly than those of standard therapy. Is it still relevant after 42 years, when conventional treatment have been developed before?

What is the use of Peri Balm and how it can help the healing of episiotomies?

Sorry I have no idea!

The gotu is still used in Eastern cultures and to my knowledge still works. If you are "cut" during labor, so the healing scar thinning and can cause problems later if the use of peri balm can help. I hope it helped.
