Homemade Olive Oil Soap

Posted on March 1, 2010.
Homemade Olive Oil SoapI try to make homemade soap and am not sure what that 1.81 kg of olive oil would be in liters. Can anyone help?

Soapmaking

Basically the following applies
1L of water = 1kg
1Lof = olive oil 800g - 920g I would say depending on the brand and the temperature
If we were to say in the middle of 860g per liter, it must be 2.1L olive oil. Please check the operation but I think I am entitled.
http://www.simetric.co.uk/si_liquids.htm

Please obtain a scale for measuring all liquids and solids by weight. Not all oils the same weight. If your measurements are off weight it will affect the outcome of your soap, my laundry to be heavy - brittle, or not enough detergent to your oils and water solution and it can not correctly configured .

1g = 1ml

So 1.81 kilograms of olive oil is 1810ml, or slightly more than 1.75 liters.

I think this recipe has been converted to imperial. This amount of liquid is about 3 liters (quarts is British - American pints are smaller!)

2 liters of olive oil

The credit crunch has hit you ...........
