Dump Truck Birthday Cake

Posted on March 2, 2010.
Dump Truck Birthday Cake Does anyone have suggestions on how to make a cake dump truck?

I'm supposed to make a cake dump truck for my nephew for his third birthday in a few weeks. If anyone has any suggestions on how to do this, they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I love watching the kids cakes and I went looking for you. Good luck.

This is a sort of super easy, like the other lazy, lol

Click on images to see them then scroll down and instructions for it is as follows:
Thank you all! The dump truck was actually very easy. I used regular size loaf pans (I'm not sure about the measurements of the kitchen). It took three cakes - two for the truck chassis and one for the cabin. I cut the cake in half and stacked the two halves cabin, and then carved the shape of this. I cut a board the same size as the truck and glued pieces of wood on the bottom of the board for the axles. I covered the black with Royal icing to not show against the road. I pasted the donuts on the side of the truck with royal icing. This gave the illusion that the wheels supporting the truck. I had some leftover fondant, so I used cardboard to cover the cake bottom make it look like the highway. After this photo was taken, I added plates to the front and rear of the truck said the name of the boy, and my friend also had candles alphabet spelled his name that have been placed in the bed of the truck. I was told that the cake was quite a hit with all the boys at the party. The kept asking - "Is it really a cake?" - Until my friend, finally cut it!

OOO is a bit like a grandmother, but step by step instructions and do not seem to want to use icing found

oh wow thats a hard blow, but I think I have a good idea ..................

do like 3 or 4 cakes in a square pan

a cut at the base of the truck, the same sort of form a large rectangle

a cut to the lifting section of the truck dump and put it in a corner, above the rectangle first ... on the back edge of the leaning down so it touches the bottom shelf

cut a sort of triangle shape for the part where people sit and put it on the front of the first rectangle ... you might need to cook this part in a different pot for the banks to correct this issue ... not sure what kind of pan but if you can find somewhere thats a triangle shape, thatd be great.

the first frost of the rectangle so that all stick

place all the rooms they are supposed to go

gel pieces unfrosted

perhaps use a different color frosting for windows and / or doors

and uh I think you have a dump truck!

*** I hope I helped and good luck!

make a layer cake and cut three sections to the shape of a dump truck. Be sure to "hold" something in the bed so as not to lose too much cake. Then, use different color icing to differentiate your cuts. > Either the yellow body, brown for things in the bed, blue windows, black for the tires ...
