Cake decorating frosting recipes can be useful. In cake decorating, frosting or icing is the most important part. If your frosting is good, you can decorate the cake with different designs. If the frosting is not good, your beautiful design does not seem attractive.

Here's a simple cake decorating frosting recipe butter icing.
You will need
* 1 / 2 cup butter
* 1 / 2 cup solid shortening
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 4 cups sifted icing sugar
* 2 tablespoons milk

Take the butter and shortening in a solid bowl and beat with electric mixer at medium speed. Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time. Keep beating the mixture well. After all the sugar has disappeared in the bowl the mixture will look dry. Add 2 tablespoons milk and beat until mixture appears light and fluffy.
Your basic butter frosting is ready.

But when you decorate your cake at times you need different consistencies in frosting. You can make different icing consistencies at home. For this you will need,
* 4 cups confectioners sugar
* 1 cup solid vegetable shortening
* 1 tablespoon of powdered egg white or meringue
* 2 tablespoons water, warm
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract clear
* 1 / 2 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon light syrup

In a bowl, combine great sift the icing sugar and egg white powder. Dissolve salt in warm water. Beat shortening. Add cream and salt together. Start adding a cup of sugar to the mixture at a time. Scrape the bowl. To a mixture at medium speed for 5 minutes it with a hand blender. If you use a mixer lift use low heat for 2 minutes.

The above mixture will give you frosting with a firm consistency. If you want to make flowers remove one cup bowl and keep aside to make flowers.

Add 2 teaspoons of water to remaining mixture. This will give you a medium consistent frosting. You can use it for flowers with petals that lie flat. You can remove 1 cup of icing coherent medium and add light syrup. This gives greater flexibility for the icing.

If you want a glaze color, you can use gel colors. It is easier to mix gel colors to make different colors. Use flat toothpick to streak your icing. Whenever using a toothpick to add different color so that the pot of gel base color will not be contaminated by other colors.
