How to use the glass tube used for baking bread? I received a long glass tube for baking bread, but no instructions, I would like to know how to use it.
I fear that the filling with the dough and baking can be extended to many and to break the glass, not knowing exactly how to use it.
Thank you for any info.
Tube pans usually have caps that correspond to the ends. To use it:
Grease the inside as you would any bread pan. Put a cork. Mold your dough into a tube about half the size of the tube and slide inside. Put the cap on the other. Let the dough rise until it nearly fills the tube, then bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until bread is golden brown.
If you do not tip, stand the tube on a plate, fill half full of dough and let rise until dough is nearlt up. Cooking is the same.
You can also use the tube for steamed buns as Boston Brown Bread.
I would be concerned about glass, but if it breaks, just throw all disappeared, including the bread. All glass should be strong enough to cooking temperatures.
The reason why the tube is to shape the loaf of bread for sandwiches amateur. tubes come in many bread-shaped diamonds, including the heart, clubs and spades and many animal forms simple. Enjoy!
